Michael J. Fox Just Got A 'Significant' Sea Turtle As His First Tattoo
Michael J. Fox has taken his first trip to the tattoo parlour to get inked with a very ~mystical~ turtle.
The 57-year-old actor shared a photo of the ancient-looking sea creature tattooed on his right forearm on his Instagram page.
"First tattoo, sea turtle, long story," Fox cryptically wrote on the photo-sharing website.
The peaceful turtle looks as though it's swimming through an interdimensional portal with a chunk bitten out of one fin. It also radiates a Mona Lisa sort of vibe, with its knowing gaze following you around wherever you stand!
Fox got inked at Bang Bang Tattoos in NYC, which has become a popular choice for celebs including Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.
Bang Bang's resident "fine-line mastermind" Mr K explained to Inked Mag why Fox decided on a sea turtle as his first tat, at the age of 57.
“He was telling me that there was a transformation for him with his career decisions when he was swimming in Saint John,” Mr K said.
“He spotted this turtle with a chunk missing from its fin and a scar on his face. And that turtle let him swim with him for about a half an hour. He made a transcending decision right after that," he added.
"So that turtle was pretty significant to him.”
It seems that inking the Back To The Future star was a pretty significant moment in itself for Mr K -- who wrote on his personal Insta that he "can't decide how to feel today" after the experience.
"@realmikejfox it was an honour," the artist wrote.
