Paris Hilton Finally Speaks About Her Broken Engagement: "I Thought It Was Gonna Be My Happy Ending"
Appearing on 'The Talk', Paris Hilton opened up about the recent end to her engagement.
News broke just last week that Hilton had ended her engagement with Chris Zylka. After dating for a year, the pair got engaged in early 2018 while on a trip to Aspen, but it appears the hotel heiress had her doubts about walking down the aisle.
Speaking to the panel at The Talk, Hilton opened up about the engagement saying, "I just feel that, when I fall in love I fall in love fast and hard, and it was this whirlwind romance."
"I've always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories," the 37-year-old said, "and I thought it was going to be my happy ending and I just realised after time that it wasn't the right decision."
Following the news of the split, Hilton posted several Instagrams -- one where she posed in front of a mirror listening to "Miss Independent".
Hilton also posted a photo of herself dressed as Marilyn Monroe with the quote, "I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
Zylka is well known for HBO's cult series The Leftovers as well as starring in The Secret Circle and the TV adaptation 10 Things I Hate About You. The 33-year-old proposed to Hilton with a $2 million ring.
The pair had originally planned to tie the knot this month, but in August Hilton announced that the date had been "pushed back" due to scheduling conflicts that could restrict her from going "directly from my wedding to my honeymoon".
Hilton has since removed many photos of Zylka from her Instagram including the giant forearm tattoo he got of her name in the Disney font.
