Ariana Grande Hits Back At Dude Who Claimed She Was "Milking" Mac Miller's Death
When a Twitter user claimed Ariana was 'milking' the death of her ex, the 'thank u, next' singer clapped back.
Grande posted a photo of herself with her late-ex boyfriend for Thanksgiving last week, and as with anything Ari-related, it was picked up by many media outlets.
Posting a photo of the pair of them from 2017 with the caption, "you're v missed", the pic was written up as a touching tribute to Miller who she dated for around two years.
Several people hit out at Grande including one user on Twitter who claimed the singer was "milking" Miller's death.
Grande decided to respond.
From there she posted a series of tweets about the kind of responses she gets to her mourning. Urging fans to have more compassion Grande also said, "It scares me the way some people think and I don't like this world a lot of the time".
Grande is currently promoting the upcoming music video for her single "thank u, next" which was released in response to her break-up with Pete Davidson. The song makes mention of Miller in the lyrics, "Wish I could say, "Thank you" to Malcolm / 'Cause he was an angel".
The single was released abruptly and without much promo and still managed to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard chart, broke Spotify's record for most streams in a single day for a female artist and later became the fastest song in Spotify's history to reach 100 million streams.
The music video teases have included references and the stars of several iconic teen movies like Legally Blonde, Bring It On!, Mean Girls and Suddenly 30. When she performed the track on Ellen, Grande also channelled the iconic performance from the end of the film First Wives Club.
