There Are Still Stan Lee Cameos To Come In The Future
The comic book legend passed away this week, but it's not the end of his signature movie cameos.
Lee was rushed to hospital early Monday morning but the 95-year-old died shortly after, according to reports.
Widely recognised for his part in the creation and co-creation of many of Marvel Comics' iconic characters, Lee was also infamous for popping up in all the major blockbusters based on those creations.
Starting in 1989, Lee has starred in pretty much every Marvel adaptation, even appearing in cartoon and CGI animation a few times.
After the news of his death, many mourned his absence in upcoming films, but have no fear -- it looks like we haven't seen the last of Lee yet.
From what we already know, Lee will appear in the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet in a brief scene, and he'll also pop up in Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
But on top of that, it sounds like there'll be a few other sneaky Stan cameos in the near future.
Speaking to Variety, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased potential future appearances saying, "I'm not going to tell you what specifically, but Stan always appreciated a good surprise."
The Wrap also reported that Lee will also be popping up in at least two of Marvel's next films, which would include Captain Marvel and the currently untitled Avengers 4.
According to one of the Avengers directors, Joe Russo, Lee would film his cameos in batches. "He doesn't love to fly, so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time," Russo told the BBC.
"If we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we're on, for instance, Ant-Man or Avengers 4," Russo said, "we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and get him through his cameos in one day."
