'I Felt Bad': Kylie Minogue On Her Battle With Kylie Jenner

Kylie Minogue has lifted the lid on her trademark battle with Kylie Jenner in a sit-down interview with Lisa Wilkinson on The Sunday Project.

Minogue is in the echelon of global stars who can get away with using just their first name, but the singer had reservations about fighting the youngest Jenner in a trademark fight.

"I just thought, here we go, this is a bother," she told Wilkinson.

"Trademarking is literally one of the most boring, expensive things to do. So I was a little bit torn, because there’s a lot of Kylies in the world."

During the battle, Kylie's lawyers called Jenner a "secondary reality television personality" -- a comment that didn't sit well with the pop starlet.

"I was so upset when I heard that. Who said what? You can’t say… what I heard back is that’s 'lawyer speak'. We know that lawyers speak differently than humans do, person to person," Kylie said.

"So I felt bad, even though I didn’t say it. I thought, that’s not a really nice thing to say."

Kylie's personal life has also had its own battles, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer 14 years ago.

It's been five years since Kylie was given the all clear, but she said each year since is still a "milestone".

"I remember when... I was able to finish taking a lot of the medication I'd been taking," she said.

"I was actually on tour, and my professor called me and I was in a shopping centre... and I burst into tears of joy and probably, it kind of brings it back to you, and was very real again.

"In general, I'm really well."

Kylie's well-documented love life has been a learning curve for her, but she said she now knows to trust her family and friends when they warn her about the men in her life.

"We get blinded by love, don’t we? What you think is love, but probably wasn’t," she said.

"But, there’s definitely been, on occasion, and I’m going to word this very carefully, a collective sigh of relief. There’s nice sigh of relief now."

But her love life is back on the up as well, as she recently announced her new relationship with British GQ magazine's creative editor Paul Solomons.

"We are just managing to get away with doing normal things, which I can’t tell you how thrilling it is to do normal things, you’re probably going ‘what does she mean, normal things?’, going to dinner, going out, I dunno, just hung out."

Kylie has just annouonced her Golden Tour that will make its way across Australia next year.
