Debra Messing Hit Out At NBC For Airing "Racist" Trump Ad

Debra Messing has called out her bosses at NBC for airing a "disgusting, racist" anti-immigration ad.

The advertisement was created by the Republican Party ahead of tomorrow's midterm elections and warns that the caravan of migrants from Central America will bring "dangerous illegal criminals" into the United States.

CNN declined to air the ad, with a spokesperson for the network writing on Twitter that "CNN has made it abundantly clear in its editorial coverage that this ad is racist".

However, NBC put the commercial to air during prime time Sunday night football coverage.

Messing wrote on Twitter that she was "ashamed" the TV station had made the decision to air the ad.

"To our Will & Grace fans -- I want you to know that I am ashamed my network aired this disgusting racist ad," she wrote.

"It is the antithesis of everything I personally believe in, and what, I believe, our show is all about," she concluded, tagging NBC in her post.

Celebrities including Judd Apatow also called out NBC and Comcast for airing the "explicitly racist" political commercial.

NBC announced today -- along with Fox -- that it would no longer run the pro-Trump advertisement.

"After further review, we recognize the insensitive nature of the ad and have decided to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible," an NBC spokesperson wrote in a statement.
