Kim Kardashian Apologises for "Insensitive" Weight Loss Comments
Another day, another apology from Kim Kardashian.
This time, she’s sorry for the comments she made about her weight in July, when she celebrated the fact that, according to her sisters, she looked “anorexic” after a substantial weight loss.
“I’m really concerned, I don’t think you’re eating,” Kendall teased in the video uploaded to Instagram.
“What?! Thank you!” Kim replied excitedly at the time.
“I’ve never seen a human being look as good,” Khloe added. “You are a walking FaceTune doll.”
Kim later declared on an Instagram video, “We’re back to talking about how skinny I am,” adding, “I’m not that skinny. I’m down to 119 pounds… I will say when I take out my hair extensions I am less.”
Khloe added, “Your extensions, your ass, your tits, everything, they’re heavy because she’s fucking voluptuous, but she’s anorexic here [her waist] and her arms are like pin thin like my pinky… Kimberly, I can see through you. I’ve never seen a skinnier person in my life.”
Immediately following the post, the backlash came swiftly, with fans blasted the reality star for seemingly glamourising eating disorders.
Following the whole messy sitch, the 37-year-old has now spoken out about her remorse over the “insensitive” comments while appearing as a guest on Ashley Graham’s podcast, Pretty Big Deal.
"Looking back, having said that, I 100% completely understand where people are coming from,” she told the model. "My intention is never to offend anyone and I apologise if I did that,” she said.
“I know people who have serious eating disorders who have been in and out of the hospital for 15 years. Close people. I’ve experienced it enough to know better,” she added.
“When our sisters are laughing and joking…sometimes you can get carried away and just, it was insensitive,” she said adding that she worked hard for her results. “I spent an entire year, six days a week working out, I lost 20 pounds, it’s been a year coming.”
