Kristen Bell Applauds Dax Shepard For 14 Years Of Sobriety

As well as a sweet Instagram tribute, she also got him the best sobriety birthday present.

Kristen Bell shared a heart-warming tribute to her husband Dax Shepard on Instagram, congratulating him on his 14th sobriety birthday.

She paid tribute to him, affectionately calling him the “man who mocked me in our wedding photos because I cried too many tears of joy” and sharing that he “wore a baby Bjorn for 2 straight years to show his girls how to be as adventurous as possible”.

Bell -- who started dating Shepard in 2007 -- continued on to say how proud she is of her husband for “setting an excellent example of being human”.

“I know how much you loved using,” she wrote. “I know how much it got in your way. And I know, because I saw, how hard you worked to live without it.”

The Good Place actor says she will “forever be in awe” of Shepard’s dedication “and the level of fierce moral inventory you perform on yourself, like an emotional surgery, every single night.”

Shepard has openly shared his stories about addiction in the last decade, which Bell says she is immensely proud of.

“I'm so proud that you have never been ashamed of your story, but instead shared it widely, with the hope it might inspire someone else to become the best version of themselves.

“You have certainly inspired me to do so.”

As well as writing the incredibly sweet post about her husband of five years, Bell also got Shepard a pretty amazing sobriety gift – a field trip to the King’s Hawaiian factory in California.

The company is renowned for their sweet Hawaiian bread rolls --which Shepard is clearly a huge fan of.

“Best sober birthday present ever,” he wrote on Instagram.

@kristenanniebell got me a tour of the @kingshawaiian factory and I ate 8 STRAIGHT oughta [sic] the oven. 2 more upstairs, and 3 at home. 13 all-in for one day is an accomplishment I will not soon forget.”

Congratulations, Dax!
