Halsey Slams "Anti-LGBTQ Religious Propaganda" At Her Shows
Halsey has come out swinging against haters, telling fans that she’s NOT here for any anti-LGBTQ rhetoric at any of her shows and declaring her concerts are “a safe place”.
The 23-year-old -- who is openly bisexual -- vented her frustration to her fans over Twitter, saying:
It’s not the first time that the singer has spoken out on issues regarding sexuality. Since bursting on to the scene back in 2015, she’s been an avid supporter for LGBTQ rights, saying she wants all her fans to be able to feel welcome at her shows.
“I spent the past year and the year before that working really hard to be a better representative of the LGBT community,” she said while accepting an award at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards earlier this year.
"I’m a young, bisexual woman, and I’ve spent a large part of my life trying to validate myself -- to my friends, to my family, to myself -- trying to prove that who I love and how I feel is not a phase; it’s not part of some confusion that’s going to change or could be manipulated. So I tried really hard to find the courage this year to write female pronouns into my music."
