Celebrities Pay Tribute To Aretha Franklin
Many, many celebs are sharing the immense impact the Queen of Soul had on them.
Tributes have been flowing in since the news broke that Aretha Franklin died on Thursday.
The Queen of Soul passed away at her home in Detroit at the age of 76, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Her family released a statement that confirmed Franklin died from pancreatic cancer and expressed their heartbreak.
"We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins knew no bounds."
"We have been deeply touched by the incredible outpouring of love and support we have received from close friends, supporters and fans all around the world," the family's statement continued.
"Thank you for your compassion and prayers. We have felt your love for Aretha and it brings us comfort to know that her legacy will live on."
Some of that outpouring of love has come from the likes of Paul McCartney, Patti LaBelle, Oprah, Michelle and Barack Obama, Elton John and Diana Ross all sharing messages on social media following the news.
