Demi Lovato Has Been Discharged From Hospital, Entered Rehab
After being hospitalised on July 25 for an apparent overdose, Demi Lovato has now check into an inpatient rehab facility.
Demi Lovato has been discharged from hospital and entered a rehab facility, according to new reports from TMZ and People.
The singer -- who has publicly battled addiction and mental health issues for many years -- was rushed to hospital on July 25 for a reported overdose, and remained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center until Saturday.
She is now checked into a rehab facility "outside California" where she is expected to receive inpatient treatment for an "extended period of time".
After addressing her fans on Instagram yesterday for the first time since her apparent overdose nearly two weeks ago, Demi said that her fight with addiction was "something [she] must continue to overcome and [has] not done yet”.
“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time," she wrote.
“Demi left the hospital over the weekend," a source told People magazine. "She will get continued care at an inpatient rehab facility."
They added: "At the hospital, she was surrounded by family and friends that support her sobriety. They all want Demi to be the best she can. Demi is surrounded by a lot of love. She has people in her life that really care. She has a long journey ahead, but with all the love, her journey could absolutely be a positive one.”
