Mariah Carey Bathes In Milk And Now We Want To As Well

Never change, Mimi.

She’s the level of extra we all aspire to be, but how many of Mariah Carey’s ridiculous rider requests are actually legit?

Speaking to The Guardian on Monday, the glamourous singer hoped to separate fact from fiction once and for all when it comes to her rumoured diva demands that have been doing the rounds over the years.

'The reports of my demands have been greatly exaggerated.' - Mariah, probably.

Like, remember back in 2009 when it was reported that the 48-year-old once requested 20 white kittens and 100 white doves as a rider?

“No, 20 cats is an absolute lie,” she declared. “I’m not a cat lady. I don’t have one cat anymore.”

No comment on the doves, however…

As for the whispers that she bathes in only French mineral water, Mimi had a far more interesting alternative to boring old H20, saying,

“I bathe in milk. Yes, sometimes I use milk as a beauty treatment. I don’t want to give away all my secrets,” adding “I guess if there’s no clean water and I had to use mineral water, maybe I would.”

If you’re wondering if she heats the milk as if to resemble some sort of industrial-sized human latte, she doesn’t -- revealing she prefers ‘cold milk’.

As for what exactly the benefits are of what we could only imagine to be a cold, messy vat of unpleasantness? Well, a fair bit as it turns out.

“These baths are making a definite comeback due to milk’s natural skin-smoothing and anti-aging properties. If it was good enough for Cleopatra, it’s certainly worth a try,” Libby Rhee, a New York City dermatologist told Well and Good.
