Joe Jackson Has Been Hospitalised With Terminal Cancer

It's unknown how long the Jackson patriarch has left.

Joe Jackson, the 89-year-old patriarch of the Jackson family, is reportedly in the final stages of his fight with terminal cancer, and has been hospitalised.

Reports of Jackson's rapidly deteriorating health came out on June 22 with sources claiming that various members of the showbiz family -- including his wife Katherine, 88 -- have visited the former talent manager at his hospital bedside.

It is not known which type of cancer Jackson is suffering but it's speculated to be stage four pancreatic cancer. It is said to be untreatable and it's unclear how long the father of eleven has left to live.

Jackson's fourth child, Jermaine, tweeted about his father's condition on June 22, refuting claims that he was near-death.

Janet, Jackson's youngest, was in Hollywood on June 23 for the Radio Disney Music awards where the singer was honoured with the first ever IMPACT award. She has yet to comment on her father's illness.

Jackson is best known as the founder and manager of The Jackson 5, a musical group made up of his sons Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. Jackson was a controversial figure and reportedly subjected the boys to mental and physical abuse.

His son Michael went on to forge a wildly successful solo career but died of a drug-induced cardic arrest in 2009.

Jackson has battled health problems in his older years including a stroke that left him with blurred vision in 2015. He was also involved in a car accident in Las Vegas in 2017.
