Damien Linnane is a 33-year-old former Australian soldier and former prisoner. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison in November 2015, with the magistrate finding the motivation for his crimes appeared to be "vigilante action". He is currently completing a Master's degree in Information Studies, with aspirations of working in the library and information sector. He works primarily as a freelance portrait artist, and is in the final stages of finishing a novel he wrote in prison.
