“Every suicide is a tragedy and our thoughts are with Cohen's family and friends. Out of respect for Cohen’s family, other grieving families and, with the wellbeing of students and school staff in mind, we don’t go into specific details about any youth suicide.

“The best interests of students are at the heart of every decision we make. This means that if the school or Department had been aware of anything that could have possibly prevented this tragic loss of a young life, it would have been done.”
