Come Fly With Me? Billionaire Bachelor Looking For Date To The Moon
Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is strapping in to be the first civilian to fly to the Moon and back – but he doesn’t want to go it alone.
The fashion magnate and art collector is planning to add space exploring bachelor to his credentials.
The founder of Japan’s largest online retailer Zozotown has launched an online matchmaking website to find a “life partner” to join him on his journey into space - which is set to take place in 2023.
Maezawa posted his ‘ad’ on Twitter on Sunday evening (AEST), asking his followers “why not be the first woman to travel to the moon?”
The fashion mogul has only given potential suitors six days to file their application - if successful the candidates are in for an extensive one-on-one matchmaking schedule from January until the end of March this year.
Maezawa's application conditions include :
- Single women aged 20+
- Bright personality and always positive
- Interested in going to space and is able to train for it
- Wants to enjoy life to the fullest
- Wishes for world peace
It's understood Maezawa's recent break-up with his ex-girlfriend prompted his decision to try a matchmaking website.
Maezawa admits he has lived a fulfilled life, but now at the age of 44, he wrote he is ready to restart his life.
The Moon journey in 2023 will mark the first lunar voyage undertaken by humans since 1972, however, Maezawa will be travelling in a vastly different shuttle to Apollo 17.
SpaceX also referred to as Starship, is owned by fellow billionaire Elon Musk.
The price Maezawa paid for his ‘golden ticket’ to space has not been revealed but Musk has admitted that it was “a lot of money.”
