A news reporter says she was "violated, objectified, and embarrassed" when a man slapped her on the butt during a live news cross.

Alex Bozarjian was covering the Savannah Bridge Run on Saturday morning for U.S. television station WSAV, speaking to the camera as dozens of competitors dashed by her.

She was seen smiling as a costumed runner came by, but her face fell into shock after a male runner appeared to smack her on the butt.

Footage of the incident went viral, with one woman sharing the clip to Twitter and calling out the "jerk" who smacked Bozarjian.

The reporter shared the video shortly after, along with a message for her alleged attacker.

"To the man who smacked my butt on live TV this morning: You violated, objectified, and embarrassed me," she wrote.

"No woman should EVER have to put up with this at work or anywhere!! Do better."

The Savannah Sports Council released a statement condemning the man's actions.

"Yesterday afternoon we identified [the man] and shared his information with the reporter and her station," the statement read.

"We will not tolerate behavior like this at a Savannah Sports Council event. We have made the decision to ban this individual from registering for all Savannah Sports Council owned races."
