It couldn't have happened to a nicer egomaniac.

Jose Mourinho has not had the best year. Sacked recently from Manchester United, the Portuguese football manager who once described himself as "the special one" had a very special fall on the ice in Russia this week.

For whatever reason -- but being unemployed was likely part of it -- Mourinho was in Russia this week dropping the puck to two players in a mock face-off before a match in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

The puck drop went well enough. Walking off the ice along a red carpet, not so much.

Mourinho was subsequently helped to his feet by one of the players -- just as Manchester United has been helped to its feet by new coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has not lost a match since taking Mourinho's old job.

This is the second fall in the last year or so by Mourinho, who took a tumble at Wembley last year. But it probably won't be the 56-year-old's last fall from grace.
