Mexican Arrested After 755 Kilograms Of Meth Found In Cow Hides
A Mexican national has been arrested after allegedly smuggling a record amount of methamphetamine into Australia in frozen cow hides.
Australian Federal Police and Border Force officers uncovered the 755-kilogram haul in Sydney on August 10.
The methamphetamine was discovered in packages of frozen cow hides from Mexico. It is the largest seizure of its kind.
A joint investigation led authorities to a property in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda, where two search warrants were executed on Wednesday.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted importation of the drug.
He will front Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday.
