Man Charged With Torture After Allegedly Holding Teen Captive

A 22-year-old man is facing a string of charges after allegedly holding an 18-year-old teenager captive for several hours and assaulting him at a residence in north-west Brisbane on Friday.

Police allege the two men, who are known to each other, were inside a residence in Keperra when the older man would not let the teenager leave.

It's alleged the accused punched the teenager in the head and hit him with a wrench a number of times between the hours of 1 am and 6 am.

According to police, the alleged victim was able to escape at around 6 am and contact authorities.

The teenager was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with facial lacerations and bruising.

The accused Underwood man has since been charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of torture, deprivation of liberty and wilful damage.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
