A man has been charged after an elderly couple was accidentally delivered nearly 20 kilograms of methylamphetamine to their door.

The elderly pair from Hoppers Crossing, south-west of Melbourne, signed for a package delivered to their home at about 1pm on Wednesday. When they opened the package they discovered bags containing a white powder.

They called police immediately.

When police arrived they found the package contained 20 kilos of the drug with an estimated street value of $10 million.
