Police have seized nearly 2000 MDMA capsules, LSD, and a knife from a Sydney music festival overnight.

Police say six people carrying a total 1,878 MDMA capsules were charged at Transmission Music Festival at Sydney Olympic Park on Friday night.

A drug detection dog sniffed out a 19-year-old man allegedly carrying 1,005 MDMA capsules, which were packaged inside condoms and hidden in his pants and underwear.

Officers allege they also found LSD tabs and a credit card knife in the Strathfield teenager's wallet.

Officers say another 18-year-old man was found with 201 MDMA capsules in his underwear, while a 33-year-old man was charged over carrying 10 MDMA capsules and a laser pointer.

Officers said despite the actions of some attendees, the 12,000-strong crowd was generally well-behaved.
