Knickers The Massive Steer Is Just A ‘Little Above The Norm’
At 194 centimetres tall and weighing in at a whopping 1.4 tonnes, proud owner Geoff Pearson says Knickers has always been a "standout steer".
And as it turns out, his impressive size is also the reason he's been saved from the slaughterhouse.
"He's had an opportunity to grow to his full potential and that's why he's still here," Pearson told The Project on Wednesday.
While there's yet to be official confirmation on whether Knickers is in fact the biggest cow in Australia, Pearson is pretty confident, but said steers generally can grow to similar sizes.
"They will grow to a fairly big capacity, and in this situation he's probably... a little bit above the norm."
Pearson also revealed the history behind Knicker's cheeky name, telling The Project panel that as when Knickers was younger he had a Bramen steer friend who was named Bra -- meaning their two names really go hand-in-hand.
But while Knickers has won the hearts of Australia and taken the internet by storm, Pearson said he had no plans of opening their Western Australian farm up for the public to see Knickers in all his moo-sive glory.
"Knickers has had a hell of a time in the last 24 hours."
"He was a bit agitated today and running around the paddock with people trying to take photos of him," Pearson said, adding that they were keen to let him settle down.
