Billie Eilish Reckons Her Oscars Performance Was 'Trash'

They say we're our own harshest critics, and that seems to ring true for Billie Eilish.

Speaking to Zane Lowe in a FaceTime interview on Thursday, the 18-year-old revealed she wasn't a fan of her Academy Awards performance where she sang a cover of "Yesterday" by The Beatles for the In Memoriam segment.

"I was sick for all of the Oscars, I bombed that performance," she told the host. "That s--- was trash."

Eilish added that she found the experience especially nerve-wracking due to the star-studded event's famous attendees, with the 18-year-old admitting she felt more comfortable at the Grammy Awards, where she took home five awards and made history as the youngest artist to sweep the four major categories.

"It was also, like, the Oscars is not my people," she told Lowe. "I'm not used to that. At least the Grammys wasn't as scary because it was, like, artists, and it felt like my people."

"I knew a lot of them already and I'd met them and they knew of me -- but, like, the Oscars, I'm like, 'These are movie stars.'"

Eilish also discussed the creation of the new "James Bond" movie theme "No Time To Die," saying that she first thought about creating a song for the 007 franchise two years ago, and she and her producer brother Finneas had "subconsciously" been working on it ever since.

"Two years ago we were like, 'Wouldn't it be crazy to make a song for the Bond movies? Wouldn't that be dope?'" she said. "We got a piece of the script, like the first scene, and then we wrote the song immediately."

She added, "We wrote it in three days and we wrote it in Texas and we recorded it in a bunk on the bus in a basement in the dark."
